ON THIS WEEK’S DEADLINE FOR COMPETITION ELIGIBILITY:
Your child has been made aware of a number of deadlines that they are responsible for by Friday, Feb. 21. We handed out a packet of info to them on Feb. 5 with explanations, dates,and how to information. I have mentioned these dates/deadlines to them every day since. It is on the website. It is critical that they get these things taken care of-especially their signing up for XC Stats. If they have NOT signed up for that performance platform by Feb. 21, they will not be competing on Feb. 27. Any questions, please contact me at jcorona@riversideunified.org.

UNIFORM DELAY AND DISTRIBUTION
Due to issues with the mishandling of our 2020 uniform order, we will not have our new track uniforms in time for our first meet against Yorba Linda and perhaps longer.
So here is how we are going to handle the situation.
On Friday, Feb. 21- we will be asking the kids to pay for ALL their gear-uniform and sweats. We will be able to hand out the sweats and a couple-dozen uniforms we had in stock, but we are going to ask the kids to hang on to their receipt and have it available to show us when the uniforms finally arrive.
We will also be giving EVERYBODY – rookies and vets – their free gray team T-Shirt.
As to athlete dress for the competitions-
1) The vets will wear the uniforms they have
2) The rookie kids who ran cross country can wear their cross country uniforms for the competitions until we get the track uniforms in
3) We will sell and distribute the uniforms left in stock from last year (they are identical to the delayed unis)
4) Otherwise, kids will be competing in the gray team T-shirts
This is not an optimum situation for our program. We have always taken great pride in being in full gear; looking, acting and competing like a cohesive unit. It is a situation that has created a great deal of frustration and just plain extra work. The company responsible for the mishandling of our order is working to get things rectified, but until then we have to make the best of a bad situation.
